Relief printing Tree Rounds

In this hands-on workshop you will create a relief print entirely by hand, burnishing with a bone folder from prepared tree rounds. Instead of a press, the pressure of your own hand transfers the image, giving each print a character and warmth that machines cannot match.

What you will do

• Work from prepared tree rounds, ready for printing
• Learn hand-burnishing technique with a bone folder to pull an even, crisp impression
  
• Leave with your own original relief prints, made entirely by hand

Who it is for

No experience needed. Complete beginners, keen makers, and anyone drawn to wood, texture, and traditional printmaking will feel at home. All materials are provided, and you will be guided step by step through the process. Age 16+ Manual dexterity needed to use the bone folder tool. 

Come along, feel the grain of the wood under your bone folder, and discover the quiet pleasure of printing by hand.
